Bitfinex keeps deep books on the majors and one market most venues do not have at all: a peer-to-peer funding book, where lenders post USD and coin at a daily rate that margin borrowers pay. It has not accepted US persons since 2017, and its restricted list still names any US person, including passport holders abroad. If you are in the United States, take a venue that can take you - Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Binance.US and Bitstamp each have their own DeskBot build.

What the auto trading does on Bitfinex

Symbols here carry a type prefix - a trading symbol looks like tBTCUSD, a funding symbol like fUSD - and sending one where the other belongs is a classic failure, so the engine resolves the symbol type before every v2 API request. It uses the order flags this venue actually gives you: post-only when it means to rest, reduce-only when it is closing, hidden and OCO where your rules call for them. Nonce ordering matters here and a second process sharing one key breaks it, so it keeps one nonce sequence per key.

What the AI research reads

The research layer reads the book and the prints on your pair - resting size at distance, how quickly levels refresh, trade size distribution, session volume. Where the funding book matters it reads the daily rate as a cost of carry, not a signal.
