Kraken Futures is a separate venue from Kraken spot, with its own account, its own margin and its own API. Its public instrument list runs to 296 contracts: 284 flexible futures, the PF_ symbols settled in a stablecoin, and twelve inverse futures, the PI_ symbols settled in the coin itself.

Those two behave differently when price moves and the build treats them as different instruments, not two spellings of the same one. On an inverse PI_ contract the profit and loss curve is not linear in dollars - your margin is the asset you are trading - and the build does that arithmetic properly instead of applying linear maths and being wrong in the direction that hurts. Funding is costed in before a trade is judged worth doing, and margin is read from the venue before every order.

What the AI research reads

The research layer reads the Kraken Futures tape for your contract: print size and frequency, volume against a normal day, resting depth either side of the touch, the funding rate, and the basis against Kraken's spot reference.
