What the auto trading does on Interactive Brokers

The engine connects to your own local gateway session rather than to any service we operate, so your credentials never travel to us. It watches that connection and tells you loudly when the session has expired instead of failing silently, because a gateway that quietly logged out overnight is the most common way an automation here goes wrong. Orders carry the type, duration and quantity you set and are checked against the contract definition the broker returns.

What the AI research reads

The research layer reads your instrument on its own exchange's schedule, which on this broker is the point: a London listing and a US listing do not share a session, and research that ignores that is worse than none. It measures the developing range against the recent range and volume against the instrument's normal.

Before you buy. The gateway session is yours to keep authenticated; DeskBot cannot hold it open across the broker's daily re-authentication. Where order placement is unavailable it runs as research and alerts. Customer brokerage order execution has not been verified end to end by us.
