Deribit is the options venue in crypto: BTC and ETH options across a full set of strikes and expiries, alongside perpetuals and futures, with a real volatility surface. Coinbase completed its acquisition of Deribit in 2025, but Deribit itself still does not onboard US persons. If you are in the United States, take a venue that can take you - Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Binance.US and Bitstamp each have their own DeskBot build.

What the auto trading does on Deribit

Options are not spot and the engine does not pretend otherwise. Instruments are named by expiry and strike and sized in contracts, not coins, and quoted in the base currency with its own tick size - so the build resolves the instrument and converts your size before it sends. It speaks JSON-RPC over a WebSocket with an HTTP fallback, reads the venue's own index and mark price, and refuses to place an order further from mark than the distance you set - the guard that matters on an illiquid strike. Position and margin are read from Deribit, not tracked blind.

What the AI research reads

The research layer reads what an options book is saying: implied volatility against recent realised, open interest by strike, the shape of the curve into expiry, and where perpetual funding sits. It reports which of those it acted on.
