A trading bot needs a running environment for its software. A dashboard on your phone may only display information from that environment. Before choosing a subscription, establish which device runs the strategy and which devices show its status.
BotDesk is being developed around a customer-owned runner: software on a compatible computer or server you control, paired with a web dashboard and planned phone companions. The product is a prototype. Supported operating systems, commercial integrations and hardware requirements have not been finalized.
Computer, server and phone have different jobs
With the proposed design, the runner would perform the local software work. The dashboard would display information reported by that runner. An iPhone or Android companion would let you check the workspace, but would not replace the runner computer.
A personal computer can be convenient, but does it sleep overnight, install updates automatically, lose Wi-Fi, or leave home with you? A remote server separates the runner from your everyday device, but brings a hosting bill and responsibility for access, updates and recovery. Neither choice eliminates outages.
Do not buy a server for BotDesk yet. Published compatibility requirements and a verified installation package are still needed.
What should a setup guide tell you?
Look for supported systems, installation steps, update behavior and the information sent to the dashboard. Understand where account credentials are stored and which permissions the software requests. A design intention is not proof of implemented security.
BotDesk's proposed design keeps exchange credentials with the customer's runner. That handling still needs implementation and verification. No commercial exchange support is claimed from private bot experiments.
What happens when the connection disappears?
An old heartbeat means the dashboard has stopped receiving fresh information. It does not establish whether the runner stopped, an exchange connection failed, or trading continued. A useful display shows the last observation time and distinguishes current observations from unknown states.
Read actual behavior during connection loss, restart and subscription expiration. Do not assume closing a phone app or canceling renewal closes a trading position.
The proposed subscription
The planned offer is $199 per month or $55 per week, with a proposed one-day web trial. Checkout and trial behavior are not live. Hosting and exchange costs may be separate. Trading can lose money; software does not promise a financial result.
